Wiener Keramik was founded in 1998 by master ceramicist Friedrich Hartmann, whose family had been working with clay since the early 19th century. What began as a small workshop in the Neubau district has grown into a respected atelier known throughout Austria and beyond.
Our philosophy remains unchanged: create objects that serve a purpose while carrying the unmistakable mark of human touch. We reject mass production in favor of thoughtful creation, where each piece undergoes the same careful attention whether it is a simple cup or an elaborate decorative installation.
The studio occupies a renovated industrial space where natural light floods our workbenches and kilns hum with the promise of transformation. Visitors often remark on the meditative atmosphere—a quality we believe infuses our work.
